Federal Election Commission (FEC) records have exposed a concerning link between federal prosecutors and top Democrats.

It appears that one of the attorneys who reportedly refused to bring tax fraud charges against Hunter Biden had previously made donations to President Joe Biden, while the other contributed to Vice President Kamala Harris when they worked in the private sector.

The investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged tax evasion, led by U.S. Attorney David Weiss, was met with resistance from Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney for D.C. Matthew Graves and Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California E. Martin Estrada.

According to testimony from IRS Whistleblower Gary Shapley, Weiss had requested both attorneys to bring tax charges against Hunter Biden, but his requests were denied. Weiss then sought special counsel authority, only to have his requests denied by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Shapley further revealed that Biden’s potential tax evasion from 2014-2015 could have been charged in Washington, D.C., but the D.C. U.S. Attorney prevented Weiss from pursuing those charges.

This deliberate exclusion concealed the most significant criminal conduct and masked crucial facts related to foreign income from Burisma and an alleged tax evasion scheme involving a convicted felon.

There were also concerns about potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) during 2014 and 2015.

Matthew Graves, who now serves as the U.S. Attorney for D.C., had donated to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign on two separate occasions while he was working at law firm DLA Piper.

FEC records indicate that Graves gave $500 in April 2020 and an additional $1,000 in May 2020 during the Democratic presidential primary.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Graves had worked in the Fraud and Corruption unit at the U.S. Attorney’s office and was even promoted to Acting Chief of the division in 2015.

Similarly, Martin Estrada, who was nominated by President Biden and became a U.S. Attorney in September 2022, declined to bring charges against Hunter Biden in California’s Central District, according to Shapley’s testimony.

Estrada had previously worked as a partner at the Los Angeles-based law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where he contributed $500 to then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris’ Democratic primary campaign in 2015.

Harris later served as a senator from 2017-2021 before becoming Vice President.

These revelations raise concerns about the potential biases of these prosecutors and their ability to impartially handle cases involving individuals with political connections.

The donations to Biden and Harris, coupled with their professional backgrounds and affiliations, create an environment where the independence and fairness of the justice system may come into question.

House Republicans on the Judiciary, Oversight, and Ways and Means committees have called for the testimony of Weiss, Graves, Estrada, and other DOJ attorneys involved in the Hunter Biden investigation.

It remains to be seen how these prosecutors will address these allegations and whether they can provide assurances that political motivations did not affect their decisions.

As the investigation unfolds, it is imperative to maintain confidence in the justice system’s integrity and the pursuit of truth, irrespective of political affiliations.
