The investigation into the discovery of cocaine in the White House has left many questions unanswered, and critics are now questioning the competence of the Secret Service or suggesting a deliberate cover-up.
John Kirby, coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council, admitted on “Fox News Sunday” that the probe yielded no identified suspect due to a lack of “forensic evidence.”
The incident occurred on July 2 when a bag of cocaine was found in a West Wing lobby.
When asked about the possibility of a more serious threat, Kirby responded, “I can’t really speak to the investigation that was done by the Secret Service. They did the best they could to track down how it got there and who it might have belonged to and they just were not able to come up with any forensic evidence that proves it.”
Kirby further explained that the cocaine was discovered in a highly trafficked “visitors lobby area” and emphasized the administration’s seriousness in addressing the incident.
He expressed a commitment to preventing similar occurrences in the future, stating, “If there’s things we can do to prevent that in the future, we certainly will do that. Nobody’s happy about this.”
The Secret Service concluded its investigation on Thursday, revealing that the bag of cocaine did not yield any fingerprints or DNA.
Video surveillance and visitor logs were also reviewed, but no leads were uncovered.
Speculation initially arose regarding the involvement of Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, given his history of drug addiction.
However, an NBC source suggested the “leading theory” is that the substance was left by a visitor during a weekend tour.
Critics, particularly Republicans, have accused the White House of engaging in a cover-up to shield the president.
Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) expressed his frustration in a video, asserting, “The investigation is going to be over at the end of the week, and they’re not going to find out who did it. And that’s basically it.”
Former President Donald Trump also weighed in, calling the situation a “two-tier level of justice” on his social media platform, Truth Social.
The lack of concrete answers and the inability to identify the culprit has raised concerns about the Secret Service’s competence or the possibility of a deliberate effort to conceal the truth.
The incident in the highly secure White House has left many conservatives wondering how such a breach could occur.
The focus now shifts to preventing similar security lapses in the future, as the administration grapples with the aftermath of this troubling discovery.
