Fans and colleagues alike are in a state of shock as actor Matthew Perry, best known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on the hit ’90s sitcom ‘Friends,’ has died.

According to law enforcement sources, Perry was found dead on Saturday at a residence in the Los Angeles area. It is believed he drowned in a jacuzzi at the home.

Responding to a cardiac arrest call, first-responders rushed to the scene, where no drugs were found and foul play has been ruled out, according to sources cited by TMZ.

Perry’s portrayal of beloved character Chandler Bing lasted for all 10 seasons of ‘Friends,’ a role that resonated with fans globally. He appeared in all 234 episodes, and his character’s idiosyncrasies, particularly the catchphrase “Could (blank) BE more..,” have been widely imitated and parodied.

Perry’s acting career extended beyond just ‘Friends’; he had roles and guest appearances in numerous other television shows over the years, including ‘Growing Pains,’ ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ ‘The West Wing,’ ‘Scrubs,’ and more.

His film credits include comedies like ‘Fools Rush In’ and ‘The Whole Nine Yards,’ although he had been off the acting scene since a TV mini-series in 2017.

Behind the screen, Perry faced personal challenges that included a long-standing addiction to substances, notably painkillers such as Vicodin.
