Not since the absurd nomination of Kamala Harris, followed by the failed assassination of Donald Trump, have Democrats so nakedly displayed their anti-American tendencies. In their reaction to the fulfilled assassination of Charlie Kirk, they’re truly outdoing themselves, and it’s way past time that everyone collectively say it: Enough is enough.
As documented at great length in my new book Traitors: The Democrat Party’s Collapse Into Anti-American Filth, everything that freedom and democratic self-rule is about — what America is about — Democrats have abandoned. This country cannot operate or continue when this many of our own fellow citizens are not only at odds with half the population, but are openly hostile to the fundamental essence of what allows the United States to even exist.
Over the past few years, it’s been jarring to witness Democrats and the dying news media reveal a complete lack of appreciation for the fragility of our precious constitutional republic. As they waged a destructive campaign that politicized and weaponized the judicial system against their opponents, demonstrating their deep resentment for rule of law, they simultaneously swore that it was Trump and his supporters who, if elected again in 2024, would end democracy. As they cheered on the imprisonment of their opposition and critics, they warned that the judiciary might just give them the legal authority to assassinate them. That was their sell to the American people: Do as we say and nobody gets hurt. Just as the founders envisioned!
Recall the summer of 2024, when the Supreme Court weighed Trump’s argument that the Biden administration’s criminal prosecutions of him regarding the 2020 election were invalid because sitting presidents retain broad immunity privileges; the idea being that a president, under the stress and strain of his position, cannot be held criminally liable as he conducts government business on behalf of the American people. The appropriate response from any rational, thoughtful person, regardless of ideology or political affiliation, would be something like: Wow, that’s an affirmation of the awesome powers our Constitution bestows on a single person, a reminder that every vote should be cast with grave concern for the character and virtue of any potential president.
Democrats instead reacted with a depraved glee, asserting that the court had just given the sitting president, Joe Biden, the right to assassinate Donald Trump, as well as the justices who issued the ruling.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a Democrat appointee, had fanned the hysteria by deliberately misrepresenting the majority’s holding in her dissent from the court’s ruling. “When [the president] uses his official powers in any way, under the majority’s reasoning, he now will be insulated from criminal prosecution,” she wrote. “Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune. Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune.” She continued: “Because if [the president] knew that he may one day face liability for breaking the law, he might not be as bold and fearless as we would like him to be. That is the majority’s message today.”
The court’s ruling in no way gave the president license to do anything and everything without accountability. But Democrats perpetually dwell on just how much power the government can have, not for the purpose of protecting citizens’ God-given freedoms, but to play God themselves, determining who gets to do what, where and when, including who gets to live or die. Patriotic Americans recognize and appreciate the delicate balance of freedom and self-governance. Democrats and leftists generally view both as inherently threatening and untrustworthy.
They rig elections, use the legal system to harass the opposition, and when all else fails, they resort to bloodshed. For the second time in just more than a year’s time, one of them has picked up a gun for the purpose of ending the life of a prominent Republican whose ideas — perfectly legitimate ones — they couldn’t tolerate others hearing. And rather than engage in some prayer and self-reflection, or perhaps atonement, they’re asking that everyone shoulder the blame. When they’re not doing that, they’re attacking anyone who might point out that the left does in fact have a political violence problem.
Democrats refuse to engage in debate. They refuse to persuade. They refuse to win arguments. All they have left is deception and force. It’s anti-American, and it’s getting people killed. This can’t continue, and everyone needs to send them the message that it had better stop immediately. Options for coping with their rampant anti-Americanism are increasingly thin.
