The song “Reminiscence” was originally called “Home Is in Heaven, Not in This Mortal World.” Most people in the world instinctively have a yearning for something higher, either consciously or subconsciously. A sage said: “Life is like cloud and smoke, coming and going in a hurry. A home in this world is like an inn, and one’s real home is in heaven.”

The composer depicts a scene of a heavenly world with beautiful melodies. The mountains and rivers are beautiful and magnificent; the fairy music flutters endlessly; the buildings are tall and majestic; the fairies dance with beautiful long-sleeved costumes, and the immortals are at ease and leisurely. The beauty of the fairyland fascinates people. This song suggests that people should go back to their roots, not be wistful for an illusory turbid world.
