


Job title: Technology Reporter

The Epoch Times is seeking reporters to cover tech in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate should be grounded in ethical journalism, committed to seek and develop sources within the tech, able to fearlessly and tirelessly seek the truth, and be driven to produce world-class reporting.
– Produce original tech coverage for a national audience by conducting interviews, seeking source documents, field reporting, analyzing reports, data, trends and other approaches.
– Follow major tech stories closely and be prepared, including through pre-writing, to rapidly cover major and breaking developments.
– Bring fresh ideas for coverage to the table daily.
– Develop a pipeline of feature stories to be reported and crafted over time.
– Travel to attend events and hearings, conduct on the ground reporting and interview sources.
– Take photographs. The company will provide equipment and, if necessary, training.
– Attend department training and seminars.
– Candidates should live in, be able to commute to or relocate within commuting range of greater San Francisco Bay Area.
– Three years of experience as a professional reporter.
– Clear and concise writing following the AP Style Guide and the AP Guide to News Writing.
– Strong narrative skills for feature writing; ability to tell complex stories in an accessible and engaging format.
– Acumen for analyzing data, reports and trends.
The annual base pay range for this role is between $50,000 and $75,000. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range according to the selected candidate’s experience, location, technical skills, and other factors.
