NextImg:Woke Workers Will Strike in 150 Starbucks Stores Nationwide Over Pride Decorations Disagreement - The Conservative Brief

Workers at over 150 unionized Starbucks locations nationwide plan to strike on June 30, 2023. This is over a dispute dealing with the coffee titan’s decision to not allow Pride decorations in several of its stores across the nation.

The workers are represented by the Starbucks Workers United union. The union announced that north of 150 stores and 3,500 workers are teaming up to conduct the strike.

Several sources speculate the number of stores striking could increase to roughly 200 stores as more locations vote in favor of strike authorizations.

Starbucks announced it had not revised its policies concerning Pride decorations in its store locations.

On top of that, store leaders are incentivized to place decorations at store locations for Pride and other community celebrations, so long as the decorations comply with safety guidelines.

However, Starbucks Workers United asserted while the coffee company grants local leaders the power to find different ways to celebrate, those same local leaders are the ones responsible for implementing many of the bans on Pride decorations.

According to the union’s claims, at least 100 locations in 22 states have been prohibited from decorating for Pride.

On top of the grievances concerning Pride decorations being prohibited at certain locations, Starbucks employees are also carrying out strikes over assertions that the company is delaying contract negotiations with the union.

According to a report by CNBC, Starbucks claimed the union has only responded to roughly 25% of over 450 bargaining sessions the company has put forward across the US.

Over the last decade, companies nationwide have embraced culturally leftist policies to appease leftist activists and workers among their ranks.

However, there has been significant pushback from patrons, who tend to be on the right or are at least annoyed by the culturally leftist posturing these companies engage in.

As boycotts and protests against woke corporate gestures intensify, there will likely be more cases of companies having to readjust their policies with regard to virtue signaling to leftist causes.
