The Kansas Bureau of Investigation revealed over 100 envelopes containing white powder substances were sent to the homes of state GOP legislators over the weekend.

Initially, 30 were confirmed to have been sent to GOP lawmakers.

However, the number doubled over Sunday, expanding to include former President Trump and Chief Justice Clearance Thomas, who received the same suspicious white powder envelopes.

Republican Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach was mailed the odd substance.

The KBI (with assistance from the FBI, KDHE, OSFM, Kansas National Guard, KHP, and various local law enforcement agencies, sheriff’s offices, and fire departments) took action after receiving mail containing an unidentified white powder.

GOP State Senate President Ty Masterson also communicated with Kansas senators regarding the packages, advising them to exercise vigilance and caution when handling incoming mail.

According to the KBI, the substance underwent preliminary tests conducted by a lab that specializes in identifying harmful biological agents. It found no detrimental elements to human health.

The envelope contained a letter that satirically congratulated both Trump and Thomas on their accomplishments, signed their “secret desire.”

Currently, Kansas’ GOP-dominated state legislature has been battling against Democratic Governor Laura Kelly on matters related to gender ideology, schools, children’s education, and other heated issues along these lines

Both chambers of the Kansas state legislature have also overridden Kelly’s vetoes nine times this year. That includes bills banning biological males from competing in women’s sports and defining an individual’s sex from birth.

GOP Kansas Sen. Molly Baumgardner responded to the incident by saying she believes Republicans are being deliberately targeted.

So far, no injuries have been reported, according to the KBI. However, they have urged citizens to remain vigilant.  No suspect has been identified as of yet.
