Earlier this week, President Biden took part in an important NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The purpose of the meeting was supposed to be all about supporting Ukraine and talking about potentially getting Ukraine into NATO.
Though what ended up happening was a lot of frustration, as well as some real humiliation for Biden himself.
At various times, other world leaders went out of their way to recognize and greet Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
They even reached across Biden and ignored him in order to greet the Ukrainian president. Biden looked confused and bewildered as he stood irrelevant while others ignore him.
This is in sharp contrast to earlier meetings where former President Trump was the center of attention. He proudly stood tall while leaders reacted to him by being intimidated or sucking up to him.
Zelensky looks more competent and in control than Biden. Zelensky leads a country that’s now been at war for over a year.
If anyone were to tell you the man being ignored is running for office again in 2024, the normal reaction would be to say “seriously?”
The meeting itself did not go well. Zelensky felt like it wasn’t worth his time, considering how strict the entry requirements are to get into NATO.
He complained the rules were disrespectful and “absurd.” Zelensky also felt angry at how there had been so much talk of Ukraine entering NATO, only to be treated that way in the end.
The focus of the meeting was Zelensky for the most part; others like Biden and his incompetent Secretary of State Tony Blinken stood around, gawking like fools.
This administration is doing such a poor job it’s sometimes hard to remember they actually came into office promising competence and real solutions. They’ve been doing the exact opposite.
