NextImg:Violent Offender Gets Off in California, Despite Video Evidence of the Crime - The Conservative Brief

The United States is currently struggling with a serious issue when it comes to crime and violent offenders being able to run amuck with little to no consequences.

As it stands today, policies such as defunding law enforcement, giving criminals early release from prison, and cutting bail requirements have led to a massive rise in crime.

This situation is even more precarious in left-wing communities that have shown disturbing levels of sympathy and tolerance towards folks who break the law.

Yet another example of this has emerged, amid a new horror story out of California, as Fox News reports.

In California, Meagan McCarthy, the former deputy sheriff of San Bernardino County, was violently targeted by a man who attacked her and then opened fire on her with her own service weapon, back in 2019.

Despite there being video evidence of this crime, the man was determined by a jury in California to be not guilty of charges alleging attempted murder and more.

McCarthy has since warned that the jury essentially opened Pandora’s box with this verdict. It’s her view that the jury’s decision is also going to send the message that it’s essentially open season on law enforcement officers.

The situation in California continues to show that criminals are running the show, hence putting law enforcement and law-abiding citizens in very real danger. It also makes the mass residential departures from the state that much easier to understand.

For the attacker of an officer to get off in a court of law, even with video evidence documenting the crime, is a sign of a very real problem.

So far, the state of California has shown zero willingness to fix things or to steer away from a path that puts criminal first and public safety last.
