The United Nations is set to launch a “global shocks plan.” This plan in question is aimed at “combating” future crises through a common agenda.
In September 2024, shortly before the upcoming U.S. presidential election, the United Nations has scheduled a significant event called the “Summit of the Future.”
As part of this submission, the U.N. is asking member nations to relinquish a degree of sovereignty. This is being requested in order to adopt a groundbreaking “Pact for the Future.”
The primarily aggressive proposal found in the “Common Agenda” is what the U.N. calls “Strengthening the International Response to Complex Global Shocks – An Emergency Platform.”
The U.N.’s secretary-general, António Guterres, suggested the implementation of a standing authority granted by the General Assembly to the Secretary-General and the United Nations system.
This authority would enable them to swiftly assemble and activate an Emergency Platform without delay. This would then go into effect when faced with a significant, wide-reaching, and severe global shock in the future.
The platform would moreover give the secretary-general power over all nations amid distress. This includes during viral epidemics, space catastrophes, “climate change,” and more.
According to Guterres, this is meant to ensure every participating state actor pledges commitments. These commitments should substantially impact the response and everyone involved will be held responsible for fulfilling those commitments.
Without the input of any member nations, the secretary-general can extend and prolong the emergency, overriding national governments, regardless if they object to it.
A transcript of Ambassador Chris Lu’s remarks to the U.N. in March 2022 stated the Biden administration favors the U.N.’s emergency platform and various other proposals outlined in “Our Common Agenda.”
