One of the candidates for the 2024 presidential nomination of the Republican Party is unexpectedly rising in the polls.
It’s none other than the previously unrecognizable Vivek Ramaswamy, an anti-woke entrepreneur of Indian origin, a report reveals.
Vivek Ramaswamy, an Ohio native born to Indian immigrants and a graduate of both Harvard and Yale, entered the 2024 GOP nomination race earlier this year. He was practically unknown to Republican voters.
Yet, his stubborn campaigning seems to be paying off.
A new public opinion has shown him to be polling, for the first time, in the double digits, coming in third after Trump and DeSantis, Red State reports.
According to the latest poll by Echelon Insights, Ramaswamy is now favored by 10% of GOP voters, after Trump at 49% and DeSantis at 16%.
37-year-old multimillionaire Ramaswamy, who at first polled at about 1-2%, has also seen his name recognition and favorability shoot up, according to the latest survey of Morning Consult.
The report points out the anti-woke businessman’s “steady rise” has been surprising. However, it also praises Ramaswamy’s campaigning, conservativism, and honest positions on key policy issues.
For instance, on June 13, he asked all other 2024 GOP nomination candidates to promise to pardon former President Trump if the latter got convicted on federal charges or, alternatively, to explain why they wouldn’t.
Ramaswamy argued that was a matter of principles over politics.
It is noted further that Democrats are obviously worried by his rise. They have already begun to target him with personal attacks – such as a nasty cartoon in Iowa’s Quad-City Times showing Republican voters call Ramaswamy a Muslim, an apu, and an illegal immigrant.
Yet, Ramaswamy’s rise is said to be mostly due to his staunch conservativism, effective communication skills, and the fact he means and stands for what he says. Plus, he doesn’t care about machinations of the vicious Democrat left.
The report predicts he might be in a strong position to be selected as the winner’s running mate. So, we might be looking at the next the vice president of the United States.
