A Tennessee town is in shock after police in Franklin arrested a beloved soccer coach, Camilo Hurtado Campos, 56. He was arrested on charges of drugging and sexually assaulting at least 10 children.

Heartbreaking Investigation Unveils Disturbing Videos and Images of Children

Authorities anticipate lodging more charges in the coming weeks. They have also expressed worry that the actual number of victims could far exceed the current count.

NBC reports that Campos is detained on bail set at $525,000. As of now, it is unknown whether he has legal representation.

A press release on Sunday stated the investigation, described as “heartbreaking,” was launched after employees at a local eatery discovered a cell phone reportedly belonging to Campos.

The police report that restaurant staff, while trying to identify the phone’s owner, were horrified to find “dozens of unbearable videos and images of children.”

There were numerous videos among these distressing files that showed Campos allegedly sexually assaulting unconscious boys aged around 9 and 17 years old, according to the police.

Community Urged to Assist in Identifying Potential Victims in Child Sexual Assault Case

The press release shared more information:

“For the past 20 years, the 63-year-old soccer coach lived in Franklin, spending time in two neighborhoods: Hill Estates and more recently, on Glass Lane in downtown Franklin. Campos used to visit nearby school playgrounds during his free time.”

“He approached kids there and invited them to join his team. After Campos gained the child’s trust, he would invite many of these kids to his home, where he allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted them.”

Police further explained the children seen in the recovered videos “were so unconscious they might not even realize they have been victimized.”

Tennesse resident Robby Starbuck shared his anger in response to the news. He called on the public to assist the Franklin Police in their efforts to identify and locate the numerous alleged victims of Campos.

His call for public action underscores the gravity of the situation and the community’s role in supporting law enforcement to ensure justice is served.
