The Phoenix city council quietly voted unanimously to send over $200,000 in firearms to Ukraine last Wednesday.
Firearms that have been misplaced or surrendered due to a court order, and held by the city for 30 days or longer, will be distributed to individuals favored by Biden and the Democrats. This comes as tensions escalate in the Russia-Ukraine war.
The motion was approved amongst an agenda of 150 items passed by the council, headed by leftist Mayor Katie Gallego and her Democratic colleagues.
In the bill ARS 12-945, if a firearm remains unclaimed, the agency must sell it to a business authorized to handle and dispose of firearms under federal and state laws.
The business, in turn, is responsible for selling the firearm to the public while adhering to federal and state regulations. The funds obtained from the sale are then transferred to the city’s general fund.
A newer vision suggests the city of Phoenix will transfer to a private firm to get them to Ukraine; the legal specifications behind this are unclear.
The Phoenix city council reportedly contacted the Ukrainian Arsenal of Liberty to manage the sale of firearms. The firm was said to have been established by the Ukrainian Parliament as means of transporting American guns to arm Ukrainian citizens.
The Department of Commerce authorized Phoenix’s sale of approximately 500 to 600 firearms, worth around $200,000, to the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the organization’s mission statement, the Ukrainian Arsenal of Liberty seeks to arm citizens directly, contradicting the previous notion that firearms were for the National Police of Ukraine.
Arizona Republican Shave called the entire scheme Fast and Furious II, slamming the far-left city council that is not taking responsibility for its actions.
