The press secretary of the White House is quite vain. Just days after being called out for breaching the Hatch Act, she redefined herself as someone of historical relevance.
All of a sudden, Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP) is conducting exclusive interviews, not as Joe Biden’s emissary, but as a very important individual, possibly the most important individual in the Biden presidency.
This is a slight exaggeration, but not by much.
KJP is now interacting with liberal journalists to inform them she is the White House employee with the toughest job. Any news from the president or possibly anyone else in a position of authority? No, obviously not. She is free to express herself and she does so.
Consider only her defiant stance toward the Hatch Act.
KJP stated she would continue to use the phrase “MAGA Republicans,” which landed her in heated water and was deemed election interference by the OSC. She is uninterested. Rules are not her thing.
In case anybody has forgotten, KJP was hailed as an important hire when she took over the podium after Jen Psaki left for more rewarding work in cable television.
The Biden presidency is quick to highlight historic hires whenever feasible. Biden employs people based on what boxes they check, rather than their skills or work history.
KJP is the trifecta of diversity appointments; she is both a black woman and an immigrant, in addition to being a lesbian.
Unfortunately, her race, sexual orientation, and immigration status have nothing to do with her position.
KJP’s role is to communicate on behalf of the president. She responds to reporters’ queries during daily White House news briefings, something the president opposes. She carries a large folio containing all administration talking points.
Without this binder, she is unable to respond to inquiries.
Undoubtedly, it is difficult to speak for the president, as he is so incomprehensible and mumbles unintelligible phrases. It is her responsibility to address questions and clear the air for the media.
The issue is that KJP isn’t the brightest tool in the box and, instead of speaking normally when answering queries, she reads answers from a binder. Like her boss, she has no comprehension of what she is saying.
