The investigation involving the untimely passing of Tafari Campbell, former President Obama’s private chef who was discovered dead in a body of water on the Obamas’ Martha’s Vineyard real estate, has taken a sudden turn.

Internet investigators have discovered a 2019 clip showing Campbell receiving swimming lessons, refuting earlier theories that he may have perished because he couldn’t swim.

The Massachusetts State Police diver team retrieved Campbell, 45, of Dumfries, Virginia, off the Edgartown Great Road on Monday.

The retrieval took place at a depth of roughly eight feet, about 100 feet from the coast.

The body of the victim was discovered by Massachusetts Environmental Police Officers utilizing side-scan sonar, based on the press release issued by the Massachusetts State Police.

Unidentified paddleboarders are said to have witnessed the 45-year-old struggling to keep afloat until he perished.

Police said Campbell was working for the Obamas at the time of his passing and had been visiting Martha’s Vineyard. The incident in question did not take place when the Obamas had been at home.

The Obamas conveyed their grief in a statement provided to CNN, referring to Campbell as a “beloved part of our family.”

Some unexpected new information concerning the case has emerged from Campbell’s previous Instagram account.

With hashtags like #stillcantswim and #wemadesomeprogress, a 2017 picture of Campbell and his spouse, Sherise Campbell, at Baby Beach in San Nicolas, Aruba suggested that he wasn’t a proficient swimmer at that point in time.

Though by 2019, it seems Campbell has made an effort to get over this obstacle. Campbell is seen taking swimming classes in old videos taken at Onelife Fitness in Woodbridge, Virginia, during that year.

Campbell may have been seen swimming a freestyle into a backstroke in one shot.

He also provided data from his swimming sessions, showing significant growth over time. In one of the posts, Campbell was shown swimming a combination of 25 yards, 100 yards backstroke, and 200 yards freestyle in 34 minutes.

In another case, he finished a 25-yard breaststroke, a 100-yard backstroke, and a 175-yard freestyle in a time of 37 minutes.
