Weight gain is something that many people try to avoid, for very good reasons. Putting on too much weight can lead to major health issues. It can also diminish an individual’s quality of life, making everyday tasks harder for them.

Diet and exercise are some of the best ways to manage and maintain a healthy weight. However, sometimes people turn to certain pharmaceuticals when they have an interest in dropping pounds fairly quickly.

Today, there are all sorts of weight loss drugs on the market, with Ozempic being one of them. Unfortunately, breaking news from the Daily Mail reports that Ozempic could very well be linked to thoughts and feelings of suicide.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently says that it’s gotten dozens of reports asserting Ozempic is the cause of suicidal feelings, along with self-harm urges.

This is no small issue, either.

Health officials both here in the United States and in the European Union are now investigating this matter. Ozempic’s manufacturer is likewise on the record noting its awareness of these reports, which it claims are being taken seriously.

On social media, folks have also shared that consuming this drug led to sudden waves of depression that made tasks like getting out of bed extremely challenging.

Until more answers are provided about Ozempic and its impacts on individuals, steering clear of this drug is the best step forward.

Thankfully, there are other ways that people can lose weight, without subjecting themselves to urges of suicide, self-harm, and other mental health challenges.
