About a month ago, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis tossed his hat in the ring, declaring his candidacy for the White House race of 2024.
DeSantis is now traveling across the country to make his case to voters and allow Americans to get familiarized with him. Furthermore, the Florida governor has committed to winning and taking the White House if Republicans award him with the 2024 GOP nomination.
Since the time DeSantis jumped into the race, new polls have come out, hence giving viewers a look at which candidates are likely to fare well against Biden.
According to the New York Post, one key poll shows that DeSantis is the only Republican to defeat Biden in a general election.
A new survey conducted by DailyMail.com and J.L. Partners shows that DeSantis is the only Republican who doesn’t lose to Biden in a general election. Thus far, if the Florida governor secures the nomination, numbers show he’d beat the incumbent president with 44% to Biden’s 43%.
As other surveys have shown similar outcomes, DeSantis is leaning into this data as he makes his case for securing the GOP nomination.
For instance, while appearing on The Brian Kilmeade Show, DeSantis pointed out that many voters in America dislike Biden, but also aren’t willing to cast ballots for Trump either.
Right now, both the Republican and Democratic primaries have a long way to go. It remains to be seen if Biden even gets the party’s nomination, despite the clear advantage he has as the incumbent.
RFK Jr. is currently running against Biden. Likewise, there’s even been talk of California Gov. Gavin Newsom making a run for the White House, as he’s been taking more and more shots at DeSantis.
In the meantime, Americans can expect even more polls to come as the political primary season plays out.
