As the 2024 presidential election plays out, all eyes are on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign. Even before DeSantis got into the race back in May, there was a lot of talk about him running and somewhat of a will-he-won’t-he spirit surrounding the possibility.
Now that the Florida governor actually is in the election, people are paying attention to his interview, poll numbers, and how voters seem to be connecting with him.
At this time, DeSantis has largely focused on policy matters, making it clear that he believes he’s the best candidate for Republicans to take home the win next year.
New developments from the Associated Press now reveal that some changes are emerging in the Florida governor’s presidential campaign.
At this time, reports indicate that the DeSantis presidential campaign is reducing its number of staffers as a means of knocking off overhead expenses. Instead of directly working for the Florida governor’s team, these folks are expected to take up employment at a PAC backing DeSantis.
Another change emerged days ago when DeSantis sat down for an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. Previously, the conservative governor maintained a pattern of strictly speaking with conservative media outlets.
Nevertheless, since taking his campaign to the national stage, DeSantis and his team are figuring out what is going to get him visible and in a favorable light with voters.
Finally, aides of DeSantis maintain that him winning in states like Iowa and New Hampshire will be critical to securing the 2024 GOP nomination.
In August, the Florida governor will be one of several candidates on the debate stage. This will be the first time Americans get to see DeSantis debating on a national level and with the other qualifying candidates who are also vying for the Republican Party’s nomination.
Throughout the months to come, the country will learn a lot more about DeSantis and his chances of becoming the next president.
