Larry Nassar is a former USA Gymnastics trainer and doctor convicted for sexually assaulting hundreds of young women in college gymnastics.

He’s also in jail over convictions on explicit underage materials. Recently, Nassar got what was coming to him when another man in jail attacked and stabbed him repeatedly.

Nassar is in federal prison in Florida at the Coleman Penitentiary. The prison currently doesn’t have enough workers, which is part of how a dangerous fight broke out.

Nassar’s gymnastics skills didn’t help him much in dodging the blade and he was stabbed multiple times in the chest and back.

Accusers in his assault case call him “vile and disgusting” for the 54-year-old Nassar’s repeated abuse of them while training them. He survived this attack and is reportedly in stable condition after being shanked.

The Nassar case caused a number of changes in sexual assault laws. It also led to Michigan State University being demanded to pay a penalty of $4.5 million.

The lawsuit is still in progress. It is in regard to MSU allegedly not responding adequately when accusations were brought forward against Nassar while he was working on their behalf to train gymnasts.

As far as legal fallout, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer put through much stricter laws over sex crimes in legislation she signed on June 29 of this year. The new laws make sexual abuse by doctors and those in the medical field even more serious crimes.

Nassar is reportedly in stable condition, but the nation’s prisons are not. They are vastly understaffed.

Perhaps that’s part of why Democrats keep being soft on crime and letting criminals walk the streets or get out on cashless bail if they don’t have the money to post bail.

At least one thing we can be thankful for is this particular criminal was locked up.
