Women’s sports have been in a rough spot lately. We’ve got the LGBTQ+ community to thank for that; they’ve pushed for the inclusion of biological males in women’s categories, despite their obvious physical advantage.
That being said, almost everyone was aware of these differences. It was only common sense that men are physically stronger than women on average, mainly due to it being in our genetics.
Unfortunately, even science has gone woke.
One Mayo Clinic professor is now facing termination from the workplace over expressing his opinion on the matter, with the clinic stating his comments were “problematic” for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans-female athletes.
As it turns out, Professor Michael Joyner was suspended without pay for a week because of a comment he’d made an entire year ago for an interview with the New York Times. Now, he’s even prohibited from speaking to the media until given permission.
One would assume that a physician would be allowed to state facts about the human body and the many differences between that of a man and a woman.
However, we live in a strange world where men are allowed to compete in women’s sports and children can receive gender reassignment therapy from the age of five.
Neither of these things is normal. It’s alarming that Mayo Clinic would go as far as suspending one of their employees over stating the absolute truth.
Naturally, the woke clinic went out of its way to “explain” how the language Prof. Joyner used was problematic in the media and in the workplace, seeing as there are members of the LGBTQ+ community working there.
That being said, any physician who denies biological facts for the sake of defending an agenda as political as they come should be the one removed from the workplace. It should not be the man who stood for the truth and supported women’s rights in one fell swoop.
The “idiomatic” language that the clinic is referring to is likely Joyner’s comments about testosterone making a huge difference in athletic performance. More particularly, he stated while there are some social aspects to most sports, physiology and biology completely override those.
No matter how you look at it, this punishment is a clear violation of Prof. Joyner’s free speech rights. It’s disgusting that something as factual as biology is no longer respected as it once was.
This will undoubtedly shake up the media and shed some much-needed light on the discrimination against biological women in women’s sports, giving women a fighting chance in their own sports categories once more.
