On July 18, 2023, journalist Paul Thacker released another Twitter Files revelation.
This exposed how several Twitter officials discussed the actions they were going to take against mass vaccination skeptic and now-presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
What prompted these talks among Twitter officials was a report published by the Center for Countering Digital Hate, entitled “The Disinformation Dozen.”
In the case of Facebook, which also reviewed the CCDH report, the social media company determined the report did not have credibility.
Nevertheless, the report drew massive attention from Congress and the White House.
CCDH is a non-profit organization that Imran Ahmed, a British political operative, is in charge of. Ahmed is the author of “New Serfdom,” a book that critiques free-market economics.
Twitter officials were involved in intense discussions about taking action based on the CCDH report.
Curiously, Ahmed released the report at the same time the Biden administration rolled out the vaccine and presided over congressional hearings with Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey.
Twitter then arbitrarily slapped a “Vaccine Safety” label on a tweet of Kennedy’s letter directed to President Biden.
CCDH has a track record of running campaigns against organizations and individuals it perceives as being disseminators of misinformation that Western political establishments deem taboo.
In 2022, CCDH previously singled out ten websites for how they allegedly posted racist content. One of the most notable targets in this campaign was the financial blog ZeroHedge.
Elon Musk responded to several of the Twitter Files revelations. He described Imran Ahmed as a “rat” because of the way he targets alleged disseminators of misinformation. Musk even inquired about who is funding the CCDH.
Musk then pointed out the ironic nature of CCDH’s work in how it allegedly disseminates disinformation and promotes censorship, while claiming it’s against disinformation and censorship.
He believes the CCDH’s behavior is “evil.”
