In Arizona, Republican Kari Lake has been in legal battles with Maricopa County for months on end now. Lake maintains that Maricopa County’s issues with ballots machines led to the Arizona 2022 gubernatorial election being rigged in favor of Democrat Katie Hobbs.
Maricopa County, of course, is denying this. They argue that Lake lacks evidence to support her claims and that everything was done above board.
Lake’s supporters feel differently. They continue urging her to stay in the fight and not give up. To her credit, Lake herself maintains that she’ll take this issue all the way to the US Supreme Court, if necessary.
Now, the Gateway Pundit just revealed that Maricopa County’s efforts to get Lake’s litigation tossed out of court didn’t work.
Judge John Hannah in Maricopa County’s Superior Court ruled against the defendents’ pleas for Lake’s lawsuit to be scrapped. The lawsuit in question pertains to how Maricopa handled affidavit envelopes for mail-in ballots.
According to Judge Hannah, the ballot affidavits in question are not necessarily voter rolls, as Maricopa County asserted. It’s for this reason that a status hearing is going to be set up in order for the judge to review further evidence.
As Lake battles Maricopa County in a court of law, she’s been adamant that election reform is coming in Arizona and in the United States as a whole. For now, it remains to be seen what Maricopa County cooks up when the pending status hearing takes place.
Though as litigation continues, Americans shouldn’t be surprised if this fight ends up being taken to the Supreme Court, as Lake mentioned previously.
After all, Maricopa County isn’t going to back down, admit fault, or concede that anything improper occurred during last year’s statewide race for governor.
