During an interview on CNN with host Fareed Zakaria, Joe Biden revealed the United States government’s military ammunition stockpiles have been drastically declining. 

For making these revelations, Biden received fierce criticism from several US national security experts. 

Biden was making a reference to the US’ deployment of ammo to Ukraine in its military struggle against the invading forces of Russia. Specifically, Biden was being questioned about his government’s decision to send cluster munitions to the war-torn country. 

Biden justified the move by asserting Ukrainians’ ammo supplies have been rapidly depleted. 

Recognizing that both Ukraine and the US are running low on ammo as a result of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, the president proceeded to send cluster bombs to Ukraine. 

Biden recently revealed to a reporter on a prior occasion that his government’s move to send cluster bombs to Ukraine was due to how the US government ran out of ammo. 

Jake Bequette, an Army veteran and former US Senate candidate, went on Fox & Friends First, describing Biden’s comments as an embarrassment and a humiliation to the US. 

Bequette emphasized that Biden’s comments would have been treated in a radically different manner; that is if he had been a regular soldier, not the commander-in-chief of the most powerful nation on the planet. 

Ever since Russia launched its “special military operation” into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the US and its allies in NATO have been sending constant streams of economic and military aid to Ukraine.

This is being done in an effort to help Ukraine be best positioned to defend itself from various attacks and to futhermore bleed Russia out in this conflict. Time will tell how much more money we send over to Ukraine.
