A pregnant New York woman claims police brutality during her arrest last month led to the loss of her pregnancy. New York State Troopers stopped Quashaia Oranchak on March 20; she was six and a half months pregnant.

She allegedly refused to cooperate and drove off, but police eventually caught up with her. After Oranchak’s arrest, he was transferred to the Broome County Correctional Facility from the State Police headquarters.

After the incident, Oranchak sought the counsel of Ronald Benjamin, a personal injury attorney.

Benjamin said the cops “yanked her out of the car like a rag doll and slammed her on the bonnet of the vehicle, surely caused the premature death of this baby.” Benjamin requests a fair inquiry into the police brutality that led to the untimely demise.

However, the arresting officer was seen on camera treating Oranchak gently. His concern for her health throughout pregnancy prompted him to tell her, “Your well-being is part of my duty.”

Oranchak requested water, which the police promptly provided.

Police informed Fox News that they discovered fentanyl and crystal meth traces in Oranchak’s body and synthetic drugs in her vehicle. Opioid abuse has been linked to an increased risk of miscarriage. One of the most potent and deadly opioids is fentanyl.

Oranchak was arrested and charged with promoting correctional facilities contraband and criminal possession of drugs. The incident is still being looked into at this time.

Oranchak’s attorney insists the cops are to blame for the miscarriage, despite contradictory evidence.

“It is recognized that narcotics were seized, but nobody participated in any aggressive behavior, nobody resisted arrest, nobody was, in reality, doing anything other than going to get laundry done when stopped by law enforcement,” he added.

The event has been met with uproar and the authorities are looking into it. An unborn child’s death is terrible and it’s unclear if police violence was to blame.
