Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) emerged on a network owned by the government of Qatar in February 2018. She has now just been reprimanded on social media, due to her anti-white racist comments made during the interview.
Midst of the interview, Omar made a racially charged statement about white men in America when responding to a question about “Islamophobia” from host Mehdi Hasan.
Hasan asked Omar about the conservative perspective that the rise of Islamophobia is driven by a legitimate fear of “jihadist terrorism.” Citing examples like Fort Hood, San Bernardino, and the recent truck attack in New York, Hasan inquired about her response to these concerns.
Omar responded that Americans should be more fearful of “white men,” alleging they were responsible for most deaths across the United States. While slamming white men as a root of all crime in the US, Omar refrained from referencing any data.
Despite being kept under the radar for five years, Omar received backlash from social media, with the footage having over 10 million views after conservative commentators shared it.
Reporter Breanna Morello said that Ilhan Omar expressed great concern about white men that she sought refuge in the United States.
While she may view them as a threat, she does not consider the Somalian men who forced her to leave her home country in the same light she continued.
Vernon Jones, a former Democratic Georgia state representative who has since switched to the Republican Party, stated Omar should be expelled from Congress.
Journalist Greg Price pointed out that Omar is married to Tim Mynett, a white American who works as a consultant for Democratic campaigns.
Cullen Linebarger called the accusations a straight-up lie that contradicts evidence. 2018 FBI statistics show black American offenders accounted for 54.9 percent of all murders, while whites were responsible for only 42.4 percent.
