Bringing to the Lone Star State what DeSantis brought to the Sunshine State, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott decided to take a stand against the woke infestation of our nation’s universities. He absolutely knocked it out of the park.
With the latest bill he’d signed, SB 17, Abbott declared all college and university DEI-focused offices will be closed by January next year, putting the woke mob on a six-month clock to pack their bags and leave.
On top of this, the legislation also imposes a ban on diversity statements for job applicants, once again allowing universities to employ high-quality educators, rather than the first non-white person who signs up for the job.
One of the bill’s main supporters, state Senator Brandon Creighton, stated with education having such immense power, it’s important to ensure it’s far removed from politics and the left-wing’s destructive agenda.
With the signing of these bills, Texas universities will once again be capable of producing the future generation of leaders, rather than a bunch of crybabies and snowflakes, allowing the state to remain the economic engine it’s always been.
With the overly sensitive staff and students out of the way, those who are determined to obtain knowledge will now have a much easier time doing so. Texas will not be hindering them or downplaying their success for the sake of the minority groups on campus.
Of course, there are always those opposing actual progress. Proponents of DEI made claims that these offices helped reduce the amount of racism, discrimination, and inequality at Texas universities.
That being said, there are few things more racist than literally taking on students for the sake of promoting diversity, rather than looking at their previous academic accomplishments. It goes to show that skin color has only ever been important to the left.
No amount of reasoning can justify turning down a student simply because they don’t belong to a minority group, especially at high-quality educational institutions. SB 17 will prevent these DEI offices from carrying out this toxic practice in the coming years.
Florida was among the first states to completely eliminate these offices from state universities. DeSantis’ work allowed for true equality to thrive in the Sunshine State.
Because of this, students in Florida are valued by their determination to pursue knowledge, rather than the color of their skin or their ethnicity, giving anyone who’s willing to learn an equal chance at doing so.
Hilariously enough, these offices were only promoting racism by actively pursuing CRT to be taught in classes. Hopefully, by January 2024, Texas will have fully implemented this law.
