Fox News stunned and infuriated Americans weeks ago when it let go of then-host Tucker Carlson. People enjoyed Carlson’s show, liked his messaging, and looked forward to tuning into him on weeknights.
Therefore, many conservatives sounded off against the network for dropping Carlson without warning.
Carlson’s firing happened around the same time that Fox News reached an agreement with Dominion Voting System, amid a major lawsuit from the company. It’s since been speculated that cutting ties with Carlson may have been within the terms of the agreement.
Nevertheless, it’s a choice which continues to backfire on Fox News, according to Trending Politics News.
Since the choice to show Carlson the exit, the Fox Nation streaming service is hemorrhaging viewers. This isn’t surprising, seeing as Carlson also had a prominent presence on Fox Nation as well.
After the network got rid of Carlson, many conservative viewers promised they’d be dumping their Fox Nation subscriptions and turning to other networks altogether.
Insiders within Fox News have also made it clear that the subscription service may not be able to bounce back from its epic loss of viewers.
Apparently, higher-ups in the network don’t plan to eliminate Fox Nation altogether; however, they are rolling it back, given the major decline in demand.
Since leaving Fox News, Tucker is now hosting his own show, Tucker on Twitter. It’s been a hit with conservatives who followed him over and are still a fan of his content.
Given the success Tucker on Twitter is having, some fans speculate that the viewers he pulls in will eventually eclipse Fox News.
Recently, the network announced host Jesse Watters will be stepping in to replace the segment Carlson once covered. Though much of the country made it clear that even this won’t get them to watch Fox News again.
