In what might be one of the most nauseating families in the nation, a five-year-old child “high on cocaine” managed to shoot and kill his baby brother, who was only 16 months old and “high on marijuana.”

The stupefyingly shocking case occurred at a family home in Lafayette, Indiana, back in March and while the kids’ father was in the apartment, The Daily Mail reports.

The five-year-old boy shot his baby brother straight in the head, just as their father, 27-year-old Deonta Johnson, was sleeping.

Johnson and the children’s mother, 24-year-old Shatia Tiara Welch, have both been charged with felony parental neglect as a result of the terrifying incident.

The investigators found that 16-month-old Isiah Johnson had marijuana in his blood system. He perished of a single gunshot to his head.

The name of his five-year-old brother who killed him is not revealed, but tests showed he used cocaine. The mother, who is a nursing graduate, wasn’t present in the home during the fatal incident.

The children’s father at first denied having a gun on the property until he admitted the gun belonged to Welch.

The mother also acknowledged she was the gun’s owner. She said she had the firearm in a locked box beneath her bed, but recently lost its second set of keys.

Yet, the police officers discovered the gun under the bed, but they also found another one in a dresser’s drawer.

The father has also been charged with obstruction of justice as he removed cannabis from their apartment before the police came to respond to the shooting.

The marijuana was discovered in his car. Besides that, though, the investigators also came across fentanyl pills, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home.

Johnson and Welch were detained on July 24. The mother has been making social media posts about how much she misses her killed baby boy.

Both parents have also been slapped with several other drug-related charges, and face sentences of 20 to 40 years each.
