NextImg:DeSantis Makes Big Decision About His Presidential Campaign - The Conservative Brief

On Wednesday, Aug. 9, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a big commitment to the GOP. DeSantis signed a document pledging allegiance to the Republican Party in 2024, no matter whether he gets the nomination or not.

This is fairly standard practice, but Trump made waves in 2015 during the primaries for not signing it. In this case, even if DeSantis doesn’t win the primary, he pledges to support the GOP nominee.

DeSantis will be able to attend only the debates that the Republican National Committee establishes, as he continues to try his best to clinch the 2024 nomination for the GOP.

DeSantis said if he doesn’t win the 2024 presidential election, he will give the Republican nominee his full support to get Biden’s horrific administration out of office.

The pledge was entitled “Beat Biden.” RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel said a Republican candidate should honor the party, even if they don’t win, they should give full support to the one voters choose.

That speech came close to the first presidential debate that will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Aug. 23.

Trump previously noted he will not be part of the first debate. He says it is an unnecessary appearance in view of his popularity and, instead, he’ll just watch it to decide who he “might” pick as VP.

Polls put Trump ahead by 40 points. Trump also said he will not subject himself to misleading comments and abusive criticism from the hostile and ridiculous anchors.

Speculators hypothesize that Trump will speak at his own event hosted by Tucker Carlson.

For sure, this event will be feedback to the GOP primary debate and a chance for Trump to win the debate and draw a bigger audience, potentially upstaging the GOP debate.

DeSantis did the right thing in signing the pledge, but he also (ironically) showed the kind of establishment GOP politics that so many are now moving away from.
