According to a new report, New York City Mayor Eric Adams relocated undocumented immigrants who were already in the Big Apple throughout the United States and across the world, including China.
Adams, who described the sending of unlawful immigrants to New York by Texas as “horrific,” reportedly sent 114 migrant families to more than 12 states and five countries. This includes China, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador.
In response, a spokesperson for the Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, stated less than a month ago, Mayor Adams said transportation for migrants is without morals.
What happened to all the anger and condemnation from the White House and Democrats that one of their own is ferrying migrants out of town, state, and even out of the country?
Instead of engaging in this hypocritical charade, Mayor Adams should call on the president and Congress to protect the southern border.
Politico uncovered, through a request for public information, that the city wasted $50,000 in taxpayer funds on flights between April 2022 and April 2023.
Unauthorized immigrants were sent to over twelve states, including 28 residences in Florida, 14 in Texas, six in North Carolina, and five in Illinois.
Adams’ spokesperson, Kate Smart, defended the action, contending it differed from what Abbott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) had done.
In contrast, New York City, according to Smart, has been working for months to connect people with relatives, close companions, and networks both inside and outside of the city.
She stated they are not forcing individuals to leave. They aren’t suggesting or advising locations and they aren’t offering a false option. Also, they assist individuals in reconnecting with loved ones or communities.
Adams made no secret of his disdain for Abbott, who sent almost 10,000 migrants to New York.
Adams stated during a press conference in August last year that it is horrifying to consider what Abbott is doing. He said the city of New York always stood for democratic ideals.
