Democrats are suing Texas Governor Greg Abbott. This comes after them being triggered by his new method of border security in marine areas amid Biden’s major border crisis.

The barriers are expected to be deployed along areas in the Rio Grande River where border crossings involving boats or swimmers are common.

Governor Abbott recently revealed plans to implement a “marine barrier installation.” This plan is aimed at deterring border crossings, using orange buoys designed to serve as floating barriers tied together.

Abbott’s marine barrier incorporates a webbing layer to prevent individuals from swimming beneath it. The marine barrier installation is anticipated to cover a distance of 1,000 feet along the river near Eagle Pass.

Texas Department of Public Safety director Steve McCraw says the network of buoys and additional sublevel webbing will act as a deterrent. It will also end up saving the lives of would-be migrants who might otherwise be crossing the Rio Grande.

The orange buoys will take up to two weeks to fully deploy along the river and the deployment will come as many migrants are crossing.

Abbott has been met with protests by various left-wing groups. Environmental activists staged a protest near the border this week, which included a prayer dedicated to the river.

David Donatti, an attorney from the left-leaning American Civil Liberties Union, criticized the barrier, calling it a stain on Texas’ moral values.

The ACLU claims the floating buoys will not solve or address the reasons migrants are fleeing to the United States.

Opponents of the barrier fear it might hinder the border influx encouraged by Biden, prompting them to resort to legal action. Abbott responded by telling the left to bring it on.
