A brand-new case, in which an active shooter was gunned down by an armed Good Samaritan before the former managed to massacre anybody, seems to have been covered up by local officials and media in Las Vegas.

This emerged after a security camera video of the incident was leaked online.

Surveillance footage of the attempted mass shooting on Twitter shows a man armed with a rifle trying to enter Las Vegas’ Turnberry Towers and starting to fire in the direction of the front desk.

At that point, the wannabe mass shooter is confronted by an armed employee, a development that the former seemingly wasn’t expecting, Red State reports.

The employee hasn’t been identified, but the report describes him as a “good guy with a gun.” After he began firing back at the invader, the latter sought to escape. He shot out the inner glass and made a run for the outer door to reach the street.

It seems reasonable to assume he was going to start killing people at random once he got out. However, the active shooter was taken down just as he reached the door, after the Good Samaritan kept firing from behind him.

The video shows the gunman wearing a tactical helmet of sorts; though, it remains unclear from the footage whether he was also wearing body armor. He probably was, since he was reported to be alive, having survived several direct hits in his upper back.

The biggest question the report raises is why five days passed before the attempted mass shooting was revealed to the public. Even when it was revealed, this was done by conservative news sites, such as Red State.

The whole thing was simply “buried by local officials” in order to avoid demonstrating the importance of concealed carry and armed Good Samaritans to the American public.

It is noted that the Las Vegas Police Department is still refusing to confirm the active shooter was neutralized by an armed civilian.

This development leaves anyone guessing about other possibilities – for instance, the employee who saved numerous lives might not have been supposed to carry a gun inside the building, as per internal policy.

Yet, there are worse possibilities, too. The report considers it “ludicrous,” but certainly not impossible, that Las Vegas’s Democratic DA might actually charge the Good Samaritan with shooting the gunman in the back.

It remains to be seen whether such an absurd scenario would ensue, but the fact of the matter is the Las Vegas case demonstrates the continuing war on Americans’ Second Amendment rights.
