Police in Idaho have revealed that the man accused of murdering four people did so after one of the victims exposed themselves to his daughter.
Last Sunday, Majorjon Kaylor, 31, was charged with killing Kenneth Guardipee, 65, his daughter Kenna 41, and her sons, 18-year-old Devin Smith and 16-year-old Aiken Smith.
The shooting occurred in the victim’s apartment complex, one below Kaylor in Kellogg, Idaho.
Kaylor himself now faces four first-degree murder charges and a felony burglary charge in addition.
Based on a recently revealed affidavit, Kaylor allegedly informed law enforcement he experienced a moment of sudden anger and lost control during a dispute with his neighbors.
According to Kaylor and his wife Kaylie Kaylor, their neighbor, Devin Smith, exposed himself in his bedroom window, in the full range of Kaylor’s daughter, while she and her sister were playing in the front yard.
Court documents indicate the Guardipees recently moved in during the months prior.
The Kaylor notified law enforcement about Smith’s inappropriate behavior. Police wrote a report and transferred it to the county prosecutor to pursue a criminal charge of indecent exposure.
On Sunday, June 18, while the charges were being processed, an argument broke out between the Kaylors and the Guardipee over their handling of the situation.
The affidavit states Kaylor was highly concerned about the behavior of Devin Smith, believing him to be a pedophile given his sexual conduct. He confronted the Guardians, who were taking the situation seriously.
Violence broke after Kaylor thought there would be no repercussions for Smith, “snapping” and killing all four family members.
Police arrived at 7:30 after reports of gunshots; Mr. Guardipee, his daughter, and grandson were found shot at close range, while Devin Smith received multiple shots to the head.
Kaylor could face the death penalty if convicted; he is due back in court on July 3.
