CNN is currently looking for a new CEO, following its firing of former chief Chris Licht earlier this month. Licht is the second CEO to hit the road in under two years, preceded by Jeff Zucker, who resigned in February of 2022.
The failing news network has a big problem, however. Nobody seems to want the job!
Licht came onboard at CNN in late February of last year after Zucker left. He tried to turn the ship around, getting rid of extremist nutjob host Don Lemon and telling anchors to stop being unpaid Democratic operatives.
In other words, he urged the network to actually start reporting news for everyone, not just suburban wine moms in Connecticut.
This included a townhall with former President Trump, after which CNN veterans like Anderson Cooper went on whiny on-air rants about how upset they were. In return, Licht was shown the exit.
CNN is owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, which is headed by David Zaslav. After the firing of Licht and all the internal drama at CNN, other media professionals are very cautious to get involved at the far-left network.
This makes Zaslav’s search quite difficult. Finding someone to be in charge of a company with over 4,000 people around the world isn’t easy at the best of times.
This is the price of running people into the ground for not being far-left enough. Even liberal Jeff Zucker got tired of the Marxist silliness going on at CNN.
CNN is a toxic work environment that doesn’t tolerate any diversity of thought.
They only want left-wing robots who think Trump is the devil. This is making the search for a new head of the company extremely difficult.
Combine that with CNN’s terrible, low-quality coverage and desperate scramble to get viewers and you have a recipe for full collapse.
