When people go to prison, they have a responsibility to serve their time for the crimes they’ve committed.

Likewise, people who work in prison, namely prison guards, are accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations. They’re tasked with making sure that things run smoothly and everyone does what they’re supposed to.

Of course, when prison guards don’t live up to their responsibilities, it opens the door to many problems. According to the Gateway Pundit, this has become a major issue that’s now plaguing at least one prison in Great Britain.

HM Prison Berwyn in Wales has a major crisis on its hand. In the six years that it’s been operational, 18 female prison guards have gotten busted for maintaining romantic or sexual relationships with the male prisoners.

Of course, after the discovery of these illicit relationships, the female prison guards either quit their jobs or were fired on the spot.

In some of the most extreme cases, the female prison guards in the aforementioned relationships even smuggled goods, such as phones and illegal contraband, to male prisoners.

Many of these women have been not only released from their jobs, but also put on trial and then jailed accordingly.

Many inquiring minds have questioned why female prison guards getting involved with male prisoners has become such an epidemic at this particular prison in Wales.

On social media, HM Prison Berwyn is also facing criticism for allowing an issue like this to spiral out of control and happen so frequently in a relatively short time period.

So far, the Wales prison hasn’t made any public statements about this problem involving its female prison guards and male prisoners. Though the various reports of female prison guards being jailed for these relationships continue to trend across news headlines.
