NextImg:Another State Falls to Illegal Immigration - The Conservative Brief

Recent years have seen an uptick in left-wing cities catering to illegal immigrants. From longstanding sanctuary city policies to new trends of clearing out hotels to give migrants shelter at the expense of taxpayers, things are quickly spiraling out of control.

Right now, it’s not looking good. Democratic leaders are doubling down on pro-illegal immigration policies, despite the negative impacts they have on everyday Americans.

This is happening not just in places like New York and California, but also in Illinois.

As a matter of fact, new measures in Illinois are not just enabling illegal immigration, but they’re also having devastating impacts on property owners, according to the Gateway Pundit.

In Illinois, landlords are now being required by law to rent out their property to illegal immigrants.

Immigration status was recently categorized by Illinois’ liberal governor as a “protected class,” meaning that it’s illegal to “discriminate” against folks who are here unlawfully by refusing them housing.

Landlords who take any measures to protect themselves from tenants who may be illegal immigrants will now be accused by the state of breaching civil rights laws.

This means property owners are hence banned from making lease changes, declining to rent, and more, all based on someone’s immigration status.

Illinois’ decision to cater to illegal immigrants comes amid the state facing crushing economic issues, such as the major uptick in housing costs.

Many illegal immigrants are furthermore unlikely to have the steady employment or income necessary to rent from landlords and other property owners.

Because the state of Illinois chose to go down this path, its officials shouldn’t be shocked if more landlords move out and decide to go elsewhere. In the meantime, there’s a very real possibility that other left-wing states will pass similar measures to accommodate illegal immigrants.
