Across the nation, Americans are being weighed down by all sorts of hardships. At the top of the list are inflation, rising crime rates, the drug crisis, and growing reports of chemicals infecting natural resources.
So far, people across the country have been forced to contend with chemicals spilling into their communities, causing problems with wildlife, water, and even the air. Then, they’ve been told by officials everything is being handled, but real-world evidence suggests otherwise.
The latest case of this comes out of Germantown, Tennessee. It’s in this city that folks have been left without access to safe drinking water for days on end, per the Gateway Pundit.
Earlier this month in Germantown, diesel fuel spilled into the city’s water reservoir, meaning the locals can’t drink from it, take showers, otherwise put it to use.
Apparently, city officials finally figured out that a faulty generator was responsible for the fuel contaminating the water supply. However, there’s still been no real word on when the water reservoir will be fixed.
Residents of Germantown are understandably furious about this. Meanwhile, city officials are saying they’ve never been up against this type of situation before.
Mike Palazzolo, the mayor of Germantown, recently announced a state of emergency, due to local problems with water supply. In sharing public remarks about the crisis, Palazzolo said the community is “hopeful” this will be fixed soon, but the priority is making sure the water is safe to ingest again.
Emergency personnel, amid this disaster, is working to get the water up and running again by flushing the fuel out of the water system. Though, unfortunately for residents of Germantown, none of this work is going to happen quickly.
News of the water crisis continues to make the rounds on social media. Many inquiring minds now want to know why a story of citywide contaminated water isn’t making national headlines.
