NextImg:Alex Murdaugh Case Judge Believes Former Lawyer Will Be Haunted by His Wife, Son - The Conservative Brief

The murder of Alex Murdaugh’s family, at the hands of the former lawyer himself, shook the entire nation this year. While most wished for him to rot in prison for the rest of his life, Judge Clifton Newman actually showed remorse for the murderer.

The South Carolina judge was the one responsible for Murdaugh’s sentencing.

He placed him in federal prison for the rest of his miserable life for killing his wife Maggie and their son Paul, who managed to record his last moments on his phone.

To make matters worse, Murdaugh testified in his own defense, despite there being video evidence placing him on the scene. Upon being caught in a lie on the witness stand, his fate was sealed.

However, Judge Newman believes Murdaugh’s life has yet to hit its lowest point. He wouldn’t wish anyone to experience what the former lawyer will go through while in solitary confinement.

He even added that when he saw Murdaugh in the courtroom, he felt the man would only go to greater depths as time went on. If you consider that the crimes he committed are only now catching up to him, this was the best way to put it.

After killing his wife and son, the disgraced lawyer then called 911 to report that he’d found his family dead by the dog kennels at their rural property in South Carolina. However, as the prosecutors slowly untangled this carefully crafted web of lies, Murdaugh soon realized there was no way out.

In a record time of only three hours, the jury reached and submitted a guilty verdict, leaving Murdaugh in the hands of the US penitentiary system for however long he may live.

Although many have argued his wife and son will likely haunt him for the remainder of his time.

This man even tried to spin the story in a way that would make him the victim, claiming the evidence pointing at a botched suicide attempt was actually caused by an attempt on his own life by the supposed “assailants.”

However, the judge was a bit more merciful than the jury that condemned Murdaugh to life in prison. He claimed in a follow-up interview he believes Murdaugh will never kill again, even if he were given the chance.

Even though he’s currently facing more than 100 state charges, the fact still remains that this murderer will be kept off America’s streets for years to come; any follow-up sentencing will be redundant.

No amount of tax fraud can equate to the murder of your own loved ones. Murdaugh’s actions are those of a man that society will never accept back, no matter how hard he tries to repent.

Even after all of this, the lawyer remained firm in his claims, maintaining he didn’t kill his wife or son and is completely innocent.
