Yikes: Dem State Rep Posts Disgusting Protest Pic With Guillotine and Trump Head, Backlash Is Fierce

We've reported on some of the violence that happened during and after the "No Kings" protests in various locations across the country, including in Los Angeles, California, Portland, Oregon, Tukwila, Washington, and Salt Lake City, Utah.
In Portland, rioters broke open the doors of the ICE facility and also injured agents. There were multiple arrests. In Tukwila, they were also reportedly assaulting agents, and they assaulted police in Los Angeles.

So you would think it might be the time — long since time, truthfully — in such a climate, for Democrat politicians to be more circumspect in what they're saying and what they post.
But it looks like one post from a Democrat in North Carolina is getting a lot of backlash.
The North Carolina Republican Party is now calling for the resignation of state Rep. Julie Von Haefen after what she reportedly posted about the "No Kings" protest she attended.
Representative Julie von Haefen (D-36) posted a photo of a woman holding a sign of a guillotine flanked by two life-sized heads, one of which resembled President Donald Trump.
The photo, which appeared to insinuate the beheading of President Trump, was included in a video along with several other photos from “No Kings” protests. Under the guillotine, the sign said, “In these difficult times some cuts may be necessary.” The other head dangling from a pole was a man with a Nazi symbol carved into his forehead.

This also comes after assassination attempts against President Donald Trump.
After a backlash, Julie von Haefen deleted her X account and the still picture from the video posted to her Instagram.
She then issued a statement, admitting to posting an "inappropriate image," claiming that she condemned "political violence in all forms."
So then why did you allegedly post the still picture in the video? It's a little late to spin now.
N.C. GOP Chairman Jason Simmons said her post showed she didn't have the "judgment or temperament" to hold public office and should resign. North Carolina House Speaker Destin Hall said her post "glorifies violence against her political opponents.”
“Her disgraceful behavior fails to meet the standards expected from House members and sets a dangerous precedent in an already volatile political climate. I am examining next steps with our legislative attorneys to ensure this behavior does not continue,” part of Hall’s statement said.
So far, it looks like the Democrats in North Carolina are being cowards on the matter and not weighing in, which says a lot too. The North Carolina Democratic House Caucus had "no further comment on the matter" in response to an inquiry from the North State Journal.
