Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer took to the floor of the U.S. Senate on Thursday evening, railing against the very real possibility that a government shutdown could be blamed on the New York lawmaker and his party. As my colleague Nick Arama wrote, this came in the wake of what's being described as a screaming match in Democrat meetings earlier in the day.

For days since the House passed a "clean" CR, with just one Democrat voting aye, the leftists has been assuring everyone that they would not pass the spending measure in the Senate.

It Seems the Schumer Shutdown Is Coming

And now we know the outcome: the Democrats have been forced to fold in total humiliation. Here's the part of Sen. Schumer's speech where he tries to play the role of martyr for the Left--when he is actually caving:

Rest assured, Schumer built things up before that part, doing everything possible to vilify and demonize President Trump, Republicans, and DOGE for doing nothing more than the American people hired them to do in November's election.
