We all know that Democrats and their partners in the media will take advantage of any disaster or tragedy to make the matter into a leftist political issue. Although the assassination of a Minnesota Democrat lawmaker and her husband, as well as the non-lethal shooting of another couple, happened only this (Saturday) morning, a WNBA coach is already blaming it on… You guessed it, “white power.”
We don’t even know the motive of the suspected assassin, Vance Luther Boelter, and he’s still on the run, yet she’s already turning it into a racially polarizing issue based on… what exactly? We are free to speculate at home about what his motives were, but authorities have not yet reached an official verdict, and it’s beyond irresponsible to use a public forum to just throw out inflammatory rhetoric like this.
The coach, the Minnesota Lynx’s Cheryl Reeve, started out saying the right things:
'It seems pretty meaningless,' Reeve said before becoming tearful and taking a moment to compose herself. 'It's certainly hitting close to home.
'It's a really difficult time, not just in our country but in the world. The radicalization that has occurred since, I think it is very clear, the timing of when our country started to turn. Today is a tough day all around.'
She spoke more about the tragic nature of the killings and their effects on the community—but then she veered off in a different direction—a partisan, flamethrowing one.
Asked about 'this time of more and more division' and the WNBA's message 'of inclusion', Reeve said: 'I was thinking about the era, the political era of leadership, the term politically correct actually means kindness and thinking of others.
'When that became weaponized, when inlcusion became weaponized, it is a time now more than ever when we need to stand in that and inclusion is the path.'
And then she went totally off the rails:
'It has been met with a lot of resistance and that is the way of the world. It is all rooted in power, as we know - white power, no less.'
Her comment comes at the end of this clip:
Wait, what?! What the heck does this have to do with white power? There are families grieving and bodies in the morgue, and she feels now is the time to throw around incendiary theories with no evidence? We’re all used to leftists making everything about their pet causes, but this one still shocked me.

The WNBA is a floundering league that few people want to watch, and it only stays alive with financial support from the NBA. It’s depraved moments like this, the anti-Americanism of Brittney Griner, fake racial hoaxes, and the endless whinings of its stars about equality when they can’t get enough viewers that make it a league that is its own worst enemy.
Reeve should be absolutely ashamed of herself for bringing such toxic narratives into a very fresh tragedy. Unfortunately, most progressives are constitutionally incapable of shame.
