NextImg:We Voted for This: Excitement in the Air As Next State Announces Its Own Version of Alligator Alcatraz

Not long after the debut of Florida's "Alligator Alcatraz," DHS Secretary Kristi Noem indicated that other states had expressed interest in possibly creating their own facilities that would also temporarily house illegal immigrants who were to be deported back to their home countries.

"We've had several other states that are actually using Alligator Alcatraz as a model for how they can partner with us as well," Noem shared at a mid-July press conference, also revealing that "I'm having ongoing conversations with five other governors about facilities that they may have."

And with the federal government now building one in Texas, speculation has run high as to which state or states would follow suit. Would it be Nebraska? Lousiana? Arizona? Noem indicated this week that those three in particular have locations that would allow for maximum efficiency, similar to Florida's.

But while it's entirely possible we could see facilities in those states in the near future, another state made it official on Tuesday, with DHS announcing Indiana will have one located at its Miami Correctional Facility.

As revealed by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin on his X feed:

DHS confirms to @FoxNews that the next “Alligator Alcatraz” will be in the state of Indiana at the Miami Correctional Facility & will be branded as the “Speedway Slammer”. DHS says it will expand ICE detention capacity by 1,000 beds, will house some of the “worst of the worst” criminal aliens, and it will be in partnership w/ Indiana Governor Mike Braun.

Noem also issued a statement on X regarding the partnership:

Today, we’re announcing a new partnership with the state of Indiana to expand detention bed space by 1,000 beds. Thanks to @GovBraun for his partnership to help remove the worst of the worst out of our country.

If you are in America illegally, you could find yourself in Indiana’s Speedway Slammer. Avoid arrest and self deport now using the @CBP Home App.

Gov. Braun also confirmed the news in a statement released by DHS:

“We are proud to work with President Trump and Secretary Noem as they remove the worst of the worst with this innovative partnership. Indiana is taking a comprehensive and collaborative approach to combating illegal immigration and will continue to lead the way among states.”

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, whose idea it was to create the Everglades detention facility better known as Alligator Alcatraz, applauded the Indiana news, writing that "Following Florida’s blueprint, states can assist the Trump administration to detain, deport, and deliver for the American people!"

There is also reportedly a second facility in the Sunshine State in the works.

After Indiana, which state will be the next one?

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
