Republican Winsome Earle-Sears, current lieutenant governor of Virginia and candidate to become the commonwealth's next governor, has released a brutal new campaign ad calling out her Democrat opponent for pouring gasoline on the unchecked rage that's driving too many on the left to commit acts of political violence.
That opponent, Abigail Spanberger, has been caught on camera several times in recent weeks urging her supporters to let their rage fuel them into taking action. As we've seen all too often in recent weeks, months, and years, that action has been less "let's talk it out and find common ground" and more "grab your weapon of choice and take to the streets." Or worse.

Here's RedState last week reporting on Spanberger's seeming call to violence:
Not even two weeks after the political assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the left paying lip service to "lowering the temperature," Abigail Spanberger was caught on camera stoking rage amongst her supporters, telling them, "Let the rage fuel you!"
It's evident by the words of Spanberger and her ilk that they have no intention of tamping down their rhetoric during this time of inflamed political tensions; the Democrat Party has apparently embraced the violence of their foot soldiers because they certainly haven't condemned it.
Voters need to be reminded who exactly is stoking the rage, and that's just what Winsome Earle-Sears is doing in her newest campaign ad "RAGE," which was released on Monday. The theme plays off the state motto, noting that "Virginia is for lovers, not rage," and it shows how the rage-baiting of the left, as espoused by Abigail Spanberger, has led to death, injury, and chaos across the nation.
WATCH:
The imagery and words highlighted in the ad are stark and deeply disturbing: assassination attempts against Donald Trump; the murder of Charlie Kirk; violence against ICE facilities; transgenders shooting up schools; James Comey and his "8647" call to action; the left's glorification of Luigi Mangione; and the ceaseless use of words like "Nazi" and "fascist" to dehumanize fellow citizens.
The American left has gone off the rails, and people like Abigail Spanberger not only applaud it through their failure to denounce it, but actively encourage it through their incendiary words.
According to a press release from the Earle-Sears campaign, "The ad underscores the growing concern among Virginians about the tone of today’s politics. While conservatives across the country face harassment, intimidation, and threats, Spanberger has chosen to invoke anger as a political weapon rather than condemn it."
Sears' campaign spokesperson Peyton Vogel said ad serves as a reminder and a warning of how dangerous words like those from Abigail Spanberger can be in the current volatile political climate. "Abigail Spanberger’s call for her supporters to channel their rage is reckless and deeply irresponsible," said Vogel. "We’ve seen conservatives and their families targeted with threats and violence. Leaders have a moral obligation to de-escalate, not to inflame. Virginia is for lovers, Abigail… not rage."
Early voting in Virginia goes through November 1; Election Day is November 4.
