Things are getting a little crazy over redistricting in Texas.
They were having a House Redistricting Committee hearing at the Texas State Capitol in Austin on Thursday, with the Republicans considering a proposed redistricting of congressional districts. The Democrats are not happy about it.
Things started to go south when Isaiah Martin, one of the Democratic candidates running for Congress to replace the late Rep. Sylvester Turner (D-TX), reportedly went over his speaking time and refused to stop talking. Then he started railing against the Committee, shouting that "History would not remember you" and it was "horrific what you have done." They then proceeded to remove him, and he was taken out, yelling all the way.
Martin fell, and one of the people escorting him out fell on him, as a woman yelled, "Jesus, get off of him!" Martin got up and then shouted as he was going out the door, "You should all be ashamed! America will rise up against you!"

Martin was arrested.
On Friday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed Martin was arrested by DPS officers at the Capitol at around 7 p.m. Thursday. He was then booked into the Travis County Jail on charges of criminal trespass, disrupting a meeting or procession and resisting arrest. A Travis County prosecutor subsequently rejected the criminal trespass charge.
His brother later said the charges had been dismissed.
It looks a bit like Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) or Brad Lander, who was running for mayor in NYC. Lander lost badly in the NYC primary after he tried to stop ICE from detaining a man outside of the immigration court.

If a candidate can't pay attention to the rules of when to stop speaking, why should anyone vote for him?
Democrats just can't stop with the performative drama. "America will rise up against you," he says/ No, I think not. It's Texas, where people generally prefer straight talking to performance.
We saw former U.S. Representative from Texas, Beto O'Rourke, who has lost multiple times for other offices, throwing a fit over this same issue.

He hilariously claimed that Democrats were too concerned about being "right" and they had to be "ruthless about getting back into power."
If this is all they keep showing the American people, they may never get back power again.
