President Donald Trump actually got members of the Royal Family to let down their polished guard, albeit briefly, in a hilarious moment that could've only happened because of Trump.
The president and First Lady Melania Trump attended an elegant state dinner at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, where they were greeted by all the pomp that accompanies events hosted by the Royals. It was attended by King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince of Wales, William, and Princess of Wales, Catherine, among many others.

The king was first to speak about the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom, which has benefited both countries for generations.
When he was done speaking, Trump stood and reflected on the historic visit and talked about what an honor it was to be the first American president to be hosted for two state visits by the British monarchy, before he cracked up the king and the rest of the people at the state banquet.

"It's a singular privilege to be the first American president welcomed here. And you think about it, it's a lot of presidents, and this was the second state visit, and that's the [historic] first. And maybe that's going to be the last time. I hope it is, actually," Trump said, leaving everyone laughing in a rare moment for the royals.
"But this is truly one of the highest honors of my life," he added. "Such respect for you and such respect for your country. For many decades, His Majesty the King has epitomized the fortitude, nobility, and the spirit of the British monarchy and the British people."
As my RedState colleague Brandon Morse reported, President Trump and Melania's reception upon their arrival in the UK wasn't exactly warm, given the President and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's less-than-cordial relationship.
However, the royal family made sure to roll out the red carpet for them in grand style, complete with "a royal carriage ride under full ceremonial guard."
Morse wrote:
King Charles took Trump in the Irish State Coach, an ornate carriage used for ceremonial occasions, while First Lady Melania Trump and Queen Camilla rode in the Scottish State Coach.
At one point, during a review of the troops, Trump stepped in front of the King, which is against protocol; however, he was invited to do so by King Charles himself, according to the Associated Press.
With so much heaviness in the world following the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk one week ago, and the ugliness coming from the left, getting a moment of levity due to an unfiltered moment like Trump's at the dinner was much needed.
