One of the first changes President Donald Trump wanted to make to the White House after he came in for his second term was to erect two giant American flags outside on the North and South Lawns to fly proudly. That was his gift to the country. He paid for it. It was estimated to cost about $100,000. He wanted pride in our country back in the White House.

That's Trump and "Make America Great." It's something he feels deeply, in symbols and in substance.
He did something else on Wednesday that was also pretty amazing. The Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon was drilling outside on the South Lawn right next to one of the flags as part of an event for Cabinet members and senior staff. It was an impressive sight.
Then came something unusual that I think was probably a big surprise to the Marines.
President Trump was watching and invited them into the Oval Office. "Come on in here, fellas," he said, leading them all into his office.
How cool is that for them?
He even handed each of them a presidential challenge coin. The coin was a way to thank them for their service. One Marine said he appreciated the opportunity, and Trump said, "It's my honor," as he shook his hand. "Great people."
That's something that they will likely always remember. It's not every day you get to meet the president and are invited into the Oval Office. It's a special thing in the military to meet the Commander-in-Chief. It's so nice to see them being shown that appreciation.
I don't think Kamala Harris would have ever thought of this, much less done it, if she had won. She'd be too busy thinking of who to blame for her failures. That's another big difference right there, and yet one more reason we surely dodged a huge problem when Trump won.
Trump is often doing stuff like this that the liberal media fails to cover while they're smearing him as a "fascist." He has a real appreciation for the members of the military. Among the things he's done?
In April, he had wounded veterans into the Oval Office and thanked them for their service.

He also helped organize a parade and celebration honoring the 250th birthday of the Army in June, which was a pretty amazing event. It recognized all that the Army had done in the history of our country to protect our freedoms.
