Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Dr. Jay Bhattacharya attempted to speak to his staff about the possibility that COVID came from a lab, and in response, dozens of them got up and walked out.
In a video posted on X, Bhattacharya said to his staff that it's possible the COVID-19 pandemic "was caused by research conducted by human beings."
"And it's also possible that the NIH partly sponsored that research," the NIH head said. "And if that's true …"
Dr. Bhattacharya stopped speaking when he noticed the dozens of staff members walking out in protest. He then recognized how great it was to have "free speech."
The NIH head continued, "So, if it's true that we sponsored research … that caused a pandemic, and if you look at the polls of the American people, that's what most people believe."
"And I've looked at the scientific evidence, and I believe it," he added. "What we have to do is we make sure that we do not engage in any research that is any risk to populations."
A second clip showed the flow of government employees who walked out, with some wearing face masks, the Daily Mail noted.
After President Donald Trump resumed office, the White House updated its website on Covid.gov that clearly states in big bold letters that the pandemic was caused by a "Lab Leak," RedState reported.
A message on the page read, "The True Origins of Covid-19" and pointed to not only the origin of the virus but also to the misinformation as to its origin pushed on us for years by those like Dr. Anthony Fauci and other "experts."
The website read:
"The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2" publication — which was used repeatedly by public health officials and the media to discredit the lab leak theory — was prompted by Dr. Fauci to push the preferred narrative that COVID-19 originated naturally.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), an outspoken critic of Fauci and the misinformation around the virus origin, recently threw his support behind an investigation into Dr. Fauci and the origin of COVID announced by the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, RedState reported.
"Fauci lied to me, to Congress, and to the American people," Paul wrote on X following Gabbard's comments on "The Megyn Kelly Show" podcast. "Thank you to @TulsiGabbard for helping shed light on all of this. More coming…"
In the clip, Kelly asked Gabbard about a new report from "The Chinese State Council Information Office" claiming "that COVID originated in the United States, not in China."
"So I created a special teams group, the 'Director's Initiatives Group,' that is focused on investigating a number of the President's [Donald Trump's] top priorities and the things that the American people really deserve and want to know the truth about," Gabbard told the host.
Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci and Co.’s response to COVID was one of the biggest unconstitutional power grabs of all time.
