NextImg:Watch: Gutfeld Hits a Breaking Point When Jessica Tarlov Tries to ‘Both Sides’ the Kirk Assassination

Greg Gutfeld eviscerated Jessica Tarlov during a heated exchange between "The Five" co-hosts after the liberal panelist attempted to "both sides" claims of violence regarding the Charlie Kirk assassination.

Tarlov entered the show on Monday armed with talking points we've heard from the left regarding the murder on two fronts - that the killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, can't be proven to be a radical leftist, and that there has been political violence on both sides of the aisle.

Gutfeld wasn't having it.

Tarlov regurgitated comments that Robinson came from a conservative family, completely ignoring the fact that the same family has reportedly stated he was motivated by left-wing ideology and despised Kirk for what he represented. She insisted we need to know more before we "take it from the president and people who are supporting him" that this can be classified as a leftist, politically motivated murder.

Gutfeld suggested we don't, in fact, need to know any more to make that point.

“We don’t need more information," he said. “We don’t need it. What is interesting here is: why is only this happening on the left and not the right?”

Tarlov pivoted by pointing to the killing of Democratic Minnesota House leader Melissa Hortman, a wholly separate case in which the killer adamantly denied political motivations, demonstrated an incredibly tenuous relationship with reality, and even made wild claims that he was motivated by Governor Tim Walz.

Gutfeld pointed out that Hortman was a more obscure, localized politician, while Kirk's national prominence made him an obvious political target.

“So she doesn’t matter?” Tarlov asked.

“Don’t play that bulls*** with me,” Gutfeld interjected. “You know what I’m saying is: There was no demonization amplification about that woman before she died. It was a specific crime against her by somebody who knew her. You can bring up Josh Shapiro, but then you will not bring up, for example, that that was a pro-Palestine person. So don’t use your ‘what about this.’”

New Information About Charlie Kirk's Assassin Doesn't Fit the Left's Narrative

Gutfeld's response is so important because it is emblematic of the appropriate level of frustration and disdain conservatives need to be countering the left with on this assassination. Yes, the shooter was motivated by left-wing propaganda against Kirk, as evidenced by the messages on the bullet casings and the mounting information being obtained by authorities. No, you don't get to gloss over that reality.

And you sure as hell don't get to "both sides" this thing following multiple assassination attempts against President Trump, one of which came within millimeters of being successful, the other a matter of minutes of achieving the goal, and especially when Kirk's murder marks the first political assassination since 1968.

“The fact of the matter is, the ‘both sides argument’ not only doesn’t fly—we don’t care! We don’t care about your both sides argument. That s*** is dead,“ Gutfeld continued to seethe.

”For one thing, there is no cognitive dissonance on our side," he added. "On your side, your beliefs do not match reality, so you’re coming up with these rationalizations, like ‘What about this?’ or ‘What about that?’ We're not doing that because we saw it happen."

“If you have to face the underlying fact of this, your life is going to fall apart because you’re going to realize: you’re not the good guys.”

Gutfeld went on to suggest he's talking about the liberal movement as a whole and then chastized Tarlov for echoing the idiotic talking points we're seeing on social media platforms from those trying to defend that movement.

"Why the hell do you have to mimic and echo that crap to us?”

Because that's all they have in this case. It's becoming more and more clear-cut.

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed Robinson had written a note about being able to "take out" Kirk before the shooting. He added that through an interview with the family, it has been revealed they "collectively told investigators that (Robinson) subscribed to left-wing ideology" and was motivated by "hatred for what Charlie stood for."

All of which had already been encapsulated in the three words he had inscribed on one bullet casing, which read, "Hey fascist! Catch!"

A new poll shows a large percentage of those identifying as liberals feel political violence can be justified and even celebrated. That poll was taken after Charlie Kirk was killed.

As Gutfeld stated, this case shows the left isn't the good guys here. Their reaction has only solidified that.
