NextImg:WATCH: 'Daily Show' Own-Goals Itself With Parody of 'White House Tesla Auto Mall' As Even Elon Weighs In

One thing both critics and supporters can agree with as it relates to Donald Trump is that he has an unconventional way of doing things as president, in terms of style, substance, and the delivery.

It's something that has - refreshingly - set him apart from past presidents and which played out Wednesday when he showed support for Tesla CEO/DOGE leader Elon Musk by having him help pick out one of the several Tesla vehicles that were parked at the White House for purchase.

As we reported, Trump bought a red Tesla S "at full price" and revealed he'd also bought a Tesla Cybertruck for his granddaughter, Kai. Musk, too, announced a doubling of Tesla production in the United States over the next two years "as an act of faith in America."

As we've also documented, humorless leftists have panned the White House Tesla event, including CNN contributor Xochitl Hinojosa, who argued it was a bad PR move and disrespectful to the American worker - apparently without realizing Tesla creates jobs and employs many American workers, as her co-panelist Scott Jennings pointed out:

Hinojosa: I‘m assuming you agree because as a Republican strategist, you wouldn‘t have advised him to go in front of the White House and drive a Tesla.

Jennings: Wait, why? Of course I would have. You know why? Because if I were advising a Republican president, I would say, ‘Let‘s support American companies that have thousands of American workers and thousands more workers who make indirect products for it.’ Yeah, I think it would be a good idea if American companies did well under my administration.

That said, the Trump/Musk haters at Comedy Central's "Daily Show" have taken a different approach to the matter, turning the Trump-Musk-Tesla display at the White House into one of those cheesy auto mall ads we see run by local car dealerships from time to time:

Though the clip was designed to make fun of Trump, some noticed that it actually made the whole event look even cooler than it already was:

Another Twitter/X user suggested that "This should have been a Super Bowl commercial."

Musk, too, was impressed, tweeting "Thanks for helping sell Teslas!!" along with a LOL emoji to the Daily Show.

Though the Daily Show's political targets most oftentimes are Republicans, there have been the rare moments they've mocked Democrats, too, including the surprisingly on-point videos they did of then-Vice President Kamala Harris that directly addressed her penchant for word salads in humorous ways:

But back to the "White House Tesla Auto Mall" video, trying to dunk Trump using the spectacle-like style he already employs to his advantage was not the smartest move made by the Daily Show, which found out soon after that their "ad" hilariously backfired. Talk about an own-goal!

President Trump, Elon Musk, and DOGE are bringing much-needed accountability to our out-of-control government as they take a chainsaw to rampant waste, fraud, and abuse.
